Stilt Fishing

If you have had a journey from Galle to Matara when sun is either rising or setting, you may have noticed that one of the famous scenes of Southern province in Sri Lanka, the "stilt fishing". This method is called "Hitipanne Deewara Kramaya" in native language of Sinhala. Specially, the stretch form Koggala to Weligama is famous for "stilt fishing". The pole and sitting arrangement is called stilt, each of which belongs to a fisherman. This method is some what traditional method of fishing and separate group of people are expert on this.

This unique method of fishing not only helps fishermen to earn some amount of money but also provide unforgettable experience to tourists. People who travel along the road stop their vehicle by the side of the road and gathered to watch this very beautiful scenery especially during sunset. I have captured the above images in Ahangama area while traveling towards Galle recently.

Fishermen are spending hours to catch few kilos of fish, which are said to be quite valuable on the market. It arises some arguments that why these people spending hours to catch such small size and amount of fish on top of the pole with thin pole to sit. But the real important is that they are keeping going this traditional method that account some beautiful features of South of the country

Hello world!- My first blog

Hello world! is the first expression that we use when learning computer languages. Here, I am calling you all with "Hello world!" from my first article in the blog.

I have started the bloging many times with different approach. Some of them were stopped at their beginning point itself due to some reasons. But, I thought to resume this habit of blogging in different ways.

There are plenty of blog sites that are checked by me daily. Those have been maintaining by my friends and many others. Some people use their own site for blogging. But, the Google blogspot is quite enough to achieve the required goals.

The blog is very useful to share our thought, knowledge and experience with our peers, colleagues, friends and community at large in daily basis. It is very important aspect of maintaining a blog very actively. Rather it would be difficult task with available time space that we can allocate. I have been reading many blogs of some of my friends and some famous news related blog for long time, but until now did not think the difficulty of writing and maintaining a blog. However, here I am now the member of world blogers society and trying to do my best.

I believe that every professional should use blogs very effectively for sharing their knowledge and daily experiences with the rest of the world. Bloggers in IT field doing great job rather than many of other sectors. Among all of them some people have been offering silent service through rich detailed blogs and their contribution to the society is enormous.

I am presently working in the biggest Civil Engineering construction project currently in progress in Sri Lanka, that is the construction of Southern Expressway. So I believe my blog will helpful to junior engineers, technicians and public to get good knowledge about the construction of this highway. Also I hope to write some important things happening in my lovely country, which is a paradise for me really.

This is just a start, so I will try to upload and write more and more later on and make this a worth reading blog as we go ahead.
